Serbian President Aleksandar Vučić raised the issue of a
ceasefire in Ukraine during a recent phone call with Russian dictator Vladimir
Putin. However, Putin refused to discuss the topic, Vučić told Bloomberg on Oct.
30.
In October, Vučić called Putin to inform him that he could not accept the invitation to the BRICS summit. Vučić noted that such behavior is typical “for gentlemen and real men,” even if the other side expected a different response.
“Then I asked him about the situation in Ukraine,” the Serbian president said.
Vučić stated that he brought up the subject of a potential ceasefire, but Putin apparently “was not interested.”
“All the goals of the special military operation, as he put it, will be achieved,” Vučić quoted Putin.
The phone call took place on Oct. 20 and was their first conversation in two and a half years since Russia’s full-scale invasion of Ukraine.
