TOMPKINSVILLE, Ky. (WBKO) — On Monday morning, the Monroe County School Board received the largest grant in the district’s history, totaling $969,331.
The grant will be used to improve technology and distance learning resources.
The funds will cover the purchase of new laptops for students, new touch panels for staff, and improved access to professional development opportunities for teachers.
The administration shared that during the COVID-19 pandemic when remote learning became necessary, staff quickly realized that the district needed improvements for their students. While current funds helped them purchase the necessary materials, the new grant will allow them to expand those opportunities district-wide.
The equipment will be delivered and fully functional by the spring semester.
