Is there evidence that Russian instructors trained citizens of Moldova on the territory of Bosnia and Herzegovina with the aim of destabilizing pro-European forces in that country? After the session of the Joint Commission of the State Parliament for the supervision of the work of the Intelligence and Security Agency, it is still possible to talk about the indications that need to be checked.
The information of the top intelligence of Moldova was exchanged with the Intelligence and Security Agency of Bosnia and Herzegovina, according to the chairman of the Joint Commission for Oversight of the Work of the OBA, Ilija Cvitanović.
“We only received confirmation of indications that these people, 6-7 Russian citizens and 14 Moldovan citizens, entered BiH, left BiH, that they communicated with some people in BiH. This is now a matter of investigation. OSA supported the necessary visits to the Prosecutor’s Office and other relevant security agencies,” says Cvitanović.
He also confirmed that the indications refer to the existence of some kind of training camp, but that he could not say anything more.
As suspicion fell on the Republika Srpska, the existence of the camps was expressly rejected by the president of the Republika Srpska, Milorad Dodik, after his return from Russia.
“I have to say that even the agencies that act here in accordance with their mandates have not confirmed such allegations that came from outside,” said Dodik.
And experts are looking for evidence from relevant institutions. If they reach them, they believe that they will react adequately.
“Yes, there are some attempts through various organizations, but there are certainly no organized ones that the state and institutions know about. And if there are any in the beginning somewhere, I am convinced by the methodology of police organizations and security agencies that they are monitored, and they cannot react if they do not have material evidence that someone committed a criminal offense,” says defense lawyer Duško Vejnović.
“The most problematic thing is that the reputation of Bosnia and Herzegovina is collapsing because it is shown in international media agencies that BiH, along with Serbia, is a breeding ground for some actions that do not contribute to international peace and security”, believes the director of the Center for Security Studies, Denis Hadžović.
BiH Minister of Foreign Affairs Elmedin Konaković recently asserted that he saw evidence of the presence of certain groups in Bosnia and Herzegovina and that there was some kind of training.
“I don’t have exact evidence or examples that it was some kind of military training, but some kind of training concerning the organization of some protests or going out on the streets certainly was, and there is evidence that I personally saw that such groups operated in Bosnia and Herzegovina,” said Konaković.
At the same time, the Minister of Security of Bosnia and Herzegovina, Nenad Nešić, states that the security agencies do not have data on the existence of training camps for Moldovan citizens. The American Embassy in our country found the allegations of the Moldovan services very disturbing, according to BHRT.
