MONCKS CORNER, S.C. (WCSC) – Berkeley County election officials say they will add voting machines at the county’s administration building starting on Tuesday.

Early voters will still need to enter the County Administration Building by way of the Voter Registration and Elections entrance on the far-left side of the building. Overflow parking is available at the former KJ’s Market parking lot located at Bilo Drive in Moncks Corner. Tri-County Link will provide shuttle service from the overflow lot to the County Administration Building.

The change comes as the county continues to see “historic early voter turnout” ahead of the Nov. 5 general election, Berkeley County spokesperson Jenna-Ley Walls said.

State Election officials say more than 27,000 votes have already been cast in early voting in Berkeley County alone. Statewide, nearly three-quarters of a million voters have cast their ballots ahead of next Tuesday’s election.

Now a full week into early voting, South Carolinians have smashed previous records in the Lowcountry and beyond.

The Berkeley County Administration Building, located at 1003 North Highway 52 in Moncks Corner, where the additional voting machines are being placed, is one of four early voting locations for Berkeley County voters.

The other three are the Daniel Island Library at 2301 Daniel Island Drive; The Hanahan Library at 1216 Old Murray Court; and Redeemer Reformed Episcopal Church at 2173 Highway 45 in Pineville.

Early voting is available from 8:30 a.m. to 6 p.m. through this Saturday.
