A recent survey conducted by Hengqin’s Guangdong-Macau In-depth Cooperation Zone Statistics Bureau has revealed that nearly 77 per cent of residents express satisfaction with the living environment in the neighbouring zone.

This positive sentiment is largely attributed to the area’s robust public services, with approximately 34 per cent of respondents choosing to reside there for its high-quality offerings in elderly care, healthcare, and education.

The survey garnered a total of 21,000 valid responses, including 20,000 from residents actively living, working, and starting businesses within the cooperation zone, and 1,269 from local residents in Macau.

The study focused on key issues such as transportation, living conditions, and employment opportunities.

Findings indicate that over 60 per cent of residents believe that transportation within the cooperation zone is convenient.

Furthermore, 53 per cent attribute the enhanced livability to the increase in public cultural facilities, while satisfaction with the employment and entrepreneurial environment has surged by about 25 per cent compared to the previous year, reaching nearly 70 per cent.

In addition, 56 per cent of Macau residents surveyed acknowledged the environmental similarities between the cooperation zone and Macau.
