The Albanian city of Fier was hit tonight by an earthquake measuring four degrees on the Richter scale, with the epicenter in the village of Čifči.
According to reports, the earthquake occurred at 19:32 local time, at a depth of five kilometers, and was also felt in the nearby town of Vlore.
Residents, frightened by the strong shaking of the ground, took to the streets.
Report TV journalist from Fieri reported that the earthquake caused panic among citizens, but for now there is no information about material damage or injuries.
Although seismic activity in Albania is relatively frequent, tonight’s earthquake caused additional concern among residents, who fear possible aftershocks.
The European Mediterranean Seismological Center (EMSC) confirmed the earthquake data and continues to monitor the situation, and the competent authorities are on standby for possible intervention.
