Shell and Uber announced a new partnership to make electric driving more accessible in the Netherlands.

This collaboration builds on the existing global partnership between the energy group and the service provider, with the Netherlands as the first European country to roll out this partnership. Drivers using the Uber platform can now use the Shell card to access more than 750,000 charging points, including 100,000 fast chargers, in more than 24 countries in Europe from the energy company’s network and partner network.

“Our goal is to make electric driving attractive and practical for drivers who have to hit the road every day. The Netherlands is the first European market where we are rolling out this partnership, and we expect this model to be successful in other countries as well,” said Fedde Wielenga, Head of Fleet Solutions at Shell Netherlands.

Drivers will benefit from discounts for charging at Shell Recharge locations. In addition, the partnership offers additional benefits such as one pass with credit facility for refueling, charging, carwash and car and shop products, alongside the ability to earn Air Miles.

Through their own account in the Shell Fleet App, drivers can find charging locations, check prices and track their expenses.
