BAKU, Azerbaijan, October 25. President of the
Republic of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev has approved two protocols
signed with Belarus, Trend reports.
The relevant decrees approved the “Protocol on Amendments and
Additions to the Agreement between the Government of the Republic
of Azerbaijan and the Government of the Republic of Belarus on
Cooperation in the Field of Veterinary Medicine dated May 2, 2007”
and the “Protocol on Amendments and Additions to the Agreement
between the Government of the Republic of Azerbaijan and the
Government of the Republic of Belarus on Cooperation in the Field
of Quarantine and Plant Protection dated May 2, 2007”, signed on
May 16, 2024 in Baku.
The primary aim of these agreements is to coordinate efforts
between the two countries in animal health, veterinary control,
disease prevention, and treatment, as well as plant health, pest,
and disease prevention, and to promote scientific research in these
areas. The protocols also align joint measures with international
standards.
The amendments will designate the Food Safety Agency of the
Republic of Azerbaijan as the authorized body and will incorporate
additional terms into the agreements to further enhance cooperation
in these fields.
