A team of Council of Europe experts visited Andorra on 25-26 June 2024, to advise the Andorran Government on the draft Youth Action Plan under preparation and future implementation steps.

This was the second visit to Andorra: in 2022, the Council of Europe experts had already issued recommendations and proposals on youth policy to improve the overall functioning of the Andorran youth sector, in particular on the importance of establishing a strategic vision in this area.

The team was made up of Miriam Teuma, CDEJ Bureau member, Jean-Marie Bouverat, CDEJ member for Switzerland, Xesc Mainzer, CCJ member, Cristina Bacalso, member of the PEYR network of the EU/CoE Youth Partnership, and Clementina Barbaro, Head of the Youth Policy Division, Council of Europe. During their two-day visit, they met Monica Bonell Tuset, Andorra’s Minister for Culture, Youth and Sport, Alain Cabanes, Secretary of State for Youth and Sport, representatives of Andorra’s seven parishes, the National Youth Forum and EYCA. A report containing a new series of recommendations will be sent to the Andorran government in September.

The visit took place as part of the CDEJ’s programme of co-operation with member states, which aims to help them adopt the Council of Europe’s youth policy standards when drawing up their youth policies.
