AUSTIN, Texas — Austin Public Health, along with city and Travis County leaders, celebrate the grand opening of the Dove Springs Public Health Facility. The project was funded by a voter-approved bond measure back in 2018.
The health clinic and facility are set to act as a central hub for the Dove Springs community, offering a number of resources in one place, including preventive health care, employment services, and child care.
It will increase access to basic health care for those who have been historically underserved.

“We hear, who lives in southeast Austin, have had longtime significant barriers when it comes to health care and health service and so by establishing the City of Austin public health facility centrally in our neighborhood, we are making it that much easier for folks to get access to health care,” said District 2 City Councilmember Vanessa Fuentes.
Austin Mayor Kirk Watson, City Manager T.C. Broadnax, and Travis County Attorney Delia Garza were among the leaders who attended this event, which marked the facility’s readiness for staff.
Some services are expected to begin as early as mid-November.
