Lithuania’s electricity transmission system operator Litgrid will disconnect all power lines with Russia and Belarus on February 8 next year, after which dismantling will begin.
By February 9, 2025, Baltic power grids will synchronize with the Western European grid.
“As the synchronization of the grid with continental Europe draws closer, the government on Wednesday removed seven 330-kilovolt links with Russia and Belarus from the list of assets and facilities important for national security,” the article states.
Previously, RBC-Ukraine reported that tightened controls on grain imports from Russia and Belarus have nearly halted grain imports to Lithuania.
