On Wednesday, NYC CLC President Vincent Alvarez moderated a conversation between experts navigating New York City’s profound role and continuing resilience within the green economy landscape at The Association for a Better New York (ABNY). Panelists included NYC Economic Development Corporation President & CEO Andrew Kimball, Trust for Governor’s Island President & CEO Clare Newman, NY Climate Exchange CEO Stephen Hammer, and Brooklyn Navy Yard Chief Real Estate Officer & EVP Gbenga Dawodu.

Topics included the challenges in connecting “Green Jobs” to New Yorkers, the work that’s being done to ensure New Yorkers across all education, skill, and income levels will be able to meet the needs of the green economy, how the Harbor Climate Collaborative plans to educate and train more than 2000 New Yorkers in building a stronger climate innovative ecosystem, and the role that several “jobs” campuses—the Navy Yard, Governor’s Island, and Brooklyn Army Terminal—will play in the NYC Economic Development Corporation’s Green Economy Action Plan, released earlier this year.
