Patriarch Porfirije of Serbia met on October 23, 2024, at the Patriarchal Palace in Belgrade with Mohammad Chandra Vidya Yuda, the Ambassador of Indonesia to Serbia.

The Patriarch thanked the Ambassador for his visit and reminded him that in the past, as Abbot of the Kovilj Monastery, he had participated in an inter-religious conference organized by the Republic of Indonesia. Together they paid special tribute to the memory of Patriarch Irinej, with whom the Embassy of Indonesia had established a particularly fruitful cooperation.

The Ambassador thanked the Patriarch for taking the time for the meeting, during which he informed him about the planned Fifth Bilateral Interreligious Dialogue to be held in Belgrade from November 11 to 14 this year. Indonesia, in particular, has been conducting interfaith dialogues with more than thirty countries for many years. The first bilateral dialogue between Serbia and Indonesia was held in Belgrade in 2011 and was considered the best dialogue ever held with another country.
