The best performers of the session on the were Barclays PLC (LON:), which rose 4.16% or 9.90 points to trade at 248.05 at the close. Meanwhile, Unilever PLC (LON:) added 2.94% or 137.00 points to end at 4,790.00 and Anglo American PLC (LON:) was up 2.88% or 67.00 points to 2,390.50 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Schroders PLC (LON:), which fell 2.65% or 9.60 points to trade at 353.20 at the close. SSE PLC (LON:) declined 2.40% or 45.50 points to end at 1,847.00 and United Utilities Group PLC (LON:) was down 1.87% or 20.00 points to 1,051.00.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the London Stock Exchange by 930 to 846 and 683 ended unchanged.

Gold Futures for December delivery was up 0.44% or 12.05 to $2,741.45 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in December fell 1.36% or 0.96 to hit $69.81 a barrel, while the December Brent oil contract fell 1.24% or 0.93 to trade at $74.03 a barrel.
GBP/USD was unchanged 0.28% to 1.30, while EUR/GBP unchanged 0.07% to 0.83.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.21% at 104.06.
