The Kansas City Chiefs finally made the move for a wide receiver the fans have been clamoring for since Rashee Rice and Hollywood Brown went down. The five-time Pro Bowler DeAndre Hopkins will join the Chiefs and reportedly be available in Week 8 against the Raiders.

Chiefs fans certainly feel much better about their team after adding Hopkins into the mix. Despite the 6-0 start, there have been concerns about the playmaking depth of this team. Now that GM Brett Veach put that to rest, the Chiefs can now focus on the other weaknesses of the team.

Those are on the defensive side of the ball. After Jaylen Watson suffered an injury in Week 7, the Chiefs could use another cornerback. Right now, Nazeeh Johnson will likely start opposite Trent McDuffie but whether he is ready for the expanded role remains to be seen.

The interior defensive line is the other position the Chiefs could use reinforcements in. Veterans Mike Pennel and Derrick Nnadi have taken a step back this season while Tershawn Wharton has taken the majority of the snaps at the other defensive tackle spot next to Chris Jones. None of the players make Chiefs fans feel great about their rotation.

At safety, Justin Reid and Bryan Cook have been fine to start the season but the fanbase wouldn’t say no to an upgrade there, either.

The Kansas City Chiefs are on a journey to make a historic three-peat this season. Even though they are significant favorites at +430 on FanDuel Sportsbook to win it all, the Chiefs still have holes they need to fill.
