Indonesia's Prabowo swears in large cabinet New Indonesian President Prabowo Subianto swore in his cabinet on Monday. It has over 10 more ministers than the previous administration.

Prabowo’s Gerindra party is the third-largest in parliament. It’s expected to form a coalition with 12 others and hold over 80 percent of seats in the legislature.

The new cabinet has ministers from nearly all those parties. That’s boosted the number of portfolios, from 34 in the former Joko Widodo administration to 48, with ministries and agencies to be newly established or split up.

Observers see Prabowo stamping his authority over the broad-tent coalition and getting his government off to a solid start.
