Man arrested after throwing apparent Molotov cocktails at LDP headquarters Police in Tokyo say a man has thrown what appear to be Molotov cocktails in front of the headquarters of the main ruling Liberal Democratic Party early on Saturday morning. Police arrested the 49-year-old suspect on suspicion of obstructing public order. No one was injured.

Police say the man drove a van in front of LDP headquarters a little before 6 a.m. and threw five or six flammable bombs. Police say one of their vehicles was hit. The fire was soon extinguished.

The man then tried to ram the vehicle into the premises of the prime minister’s office but was blocked by a fence. He attempted to throw an apparent smoke bomb onto the grounds but was prevented from doing so by the police.
Police have found about 10 poly tanks and what appear to be unused fire bombs in the van. The suspect has reportedly refused to speak about the allegations.
