Personally I would have been ok if someone bought it and kept playing it. Love it when legendary instruments gets passed down and have long lives. Like how the guy from Metallica has the Peter Green / Garry Moore Les Paul and plays it.

Live Nation Gaiety Ltd who own MCD have bought it and donated it to the National Museum.
