  1. Looks like someone named Vem Miller ran as a Republican in NV in 2022. Anyone want to place a bet?

  2. He ran for the Nevada state assembly as a Republican. He didn’t make it through the primary though.

It looks like he’s produced some reality tv shows and founded a network.

  3. Sheriff Bianco (of Riverside County, where this has happened) has allowed on-demand weapons permits and said that no one should ever be arrested for carrying firearms.

    So…? Yeah.

  4. He wanted that $100k for gambling money. /s

But seriously, any ideas if this guy was a republican too?

  5. Now Trump is going to start calling this the third assassination attempt. And he’ll use it to demand presidential levels of security, like protected airspace over rallies or some shit.

  6. Don’t care. I mean, I would *prefer* for him to lose the election and go to prison for the rest of his life, but whenever and however he dies, I will not cry a single tear. My only concern if an assassin were to succeed would be the ensuing martyrdom for the fascist bastard, and MAGAs likely attempt to overthrow the election and install vance.

  7. What’s up with all these radicalized republicans wanting to harm the Republican presidential candidate?

Either he doesn’t represent the party’s values, or the party is attracting the mentally ill.

The man was a registered Republican. He was clearly a good guy with a gun, they should have let him in. He probably just wanted to protect Trump. How dare they abridge this man’s right to bear arms!

  9. One guy tries to assassinate you that’s on them, three people try to assassinate you? I think you might want to reevaluate your life choices js…

If at first you don’t succeed, try and try again.

Who wants to bet this latest guy is ultra- MAGA, too ?

  11. Soooo yet another Republican trying to do violence? I thought Republicans were the good guys with guns.

  12. Wow another disgruntled Republican that wants to shoot Trump. This is the third one now bud, and they just keep coming. It might never end at this rate. Well at least until one, you know.

  13. This many “attempts” feels like trying to reproduce the surge of excitement after the first attempt. They could be real, but the extent of falsehood by this campaign make it eaay to believe these are all staged for publicity.

  14. > and having fake license plates consistent of groups claiming to be “sovereign citizens,”

For anyone who’s unfamiliar, I’m guessing it was probably [something like this](https://i.imgur.com/WMnsobz.png). Sovereign Citizen nuts think that because [freedom of movement is a constitutional right](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Freedom_of_movement_under_United_States_law), the government’s not actually allowed to stop you from driving (and so not allowed to require license plates, a driver’s license, insurance, registration, etc), unless it’s for commercial purposes.

Can’t think of many quicker ways to attract law enforcement attention than to slap one of those on your car.

Doesn’t really seem like an assassination attempt, more like a sovereign citizen nut who thinks he can take his guns literally anywhere.

  16. I read the reporting and followed the link to the Riverside County Sheriff’s Office press release. There is some good stuff in there.

    Key details:

The arrest of Vem Miller took place at a checkpoint along the way to the Coachella Valley venue where Trump was set to do a rally.

Trump had not arrived at the venue at the time that Miller was arrested.

The press release linked in the reporting notes that “the incident did not impact the safety of former President Trump”

The deputies at the checkpoint stopped Miller for multiple reasons. The Sheriff informed reporters that Miller presented fake VIP and press credentials, that he had a fake license plate which was of a kind typical to sovereign citizens and the deputies observed that the interior of Millers vehicle was in a state of disarray.

When deputies searched Millers vehicle they uncovered an unregistered shotgun and a handgun along with a high capacity magazine.

Miller was arrested without incident and as of today, according to the reporting, has been released on $5,000 bail.

The Sheriff noted that the only charges they intended to pursue were related to Miller’s possession of the shotgun, handgun and high capacity magazine.

So how did a situation where a sovereign citizen getting arrested for illegal possession of a couple unregistered guns outside a venue where Trump had not yet arrived at end up being presented as a third assassination attempt?

    The Sheriff is how.

First off, it needs to be noted that the Sheriff of Riverside County California, Chad Bianco, has openly expressed his support for Trump.

Sheriff Bianco told the Southern California News Group (SCNG), “we probably stopped another assassination attempt”

Later Sheriff Bianco was asked about that statement while taking questions at a news conference. When asked about his earlier statement Sheriff Bianco claimed that he “didn’t remember” but noted that “It sounds like something I would say”

Sheriff Bianco elaborated, “it’s all going to be speculation about what his intentions were [but] if you ask me… deputies… prevented the third assassination attempt”

And here’s the cherry on top. Miller is a registered Republican who filed to run for Nevada’s state assembly in 2022.
