I’m not saying I love the thought of Kamala being president, but jesus christ, the alternative could be one of the worst things to happen in history…it’s just no contest.

We all know someone who might vote for TFG but would happily skip voting for a couple beers at ____’s after work.

Vote for Harris. And then take ___ to the bar, away from the voting booth.

Buy America a beer on Election Day. Do what you can to preserve democracy.

A few problems with this approach. Before I go on, keep in mind I’m not describing the world as I want it to be, just the world as it is.

Identity and social group are incredibly intertwined with politics at this point, to the point that most people who are actively engaged in politics cannot countenance the fact of abandoning their tribe and voting outside the wishes of the group. Going one step further, even if a person’s conscious compelled them to do so, they probably wouldn’t tell you about it.

Realistically with anyone who is attached to politics and a social group where politics is an active Dimension and determinant of acceptance, the best you can hope for is it they just don’t choose to vote for the office of president while likely voting for The GOP on down ballot elections. More realistic, is to hope they do this even if they’ll never tell you that they did it.

    “Moderate conservatives” is an oxymoron.

Conservatism is, and always has been, an extremist position.

A Moderate right winger is a social democrat.

  5. I’m pretty sure a lot of conservatives are 1 issue voters even if they won’t admit it. That issue is their wallet. If they believe they can personally prosper more under a certain president, they get the vote. Thats why it’s so confusing to hear them agree on a lot of points but still fall back to Trump. It’s just their money.

I’m not sure this is totally accurate. Dick “The Darth Vader of the Republican Party” Cheney is supporting Harris
