  1. If you want a primer on the psychology of Trump before you go watch this, #Unfit (available for free on Amazon Prime) is fantastic and scary.

Has anyone seen it yet? Curious if its got any revelations in it, or if it’s rehashing stuff those of us here would already know?

  3. The “fury” is so passé at this point. Every day it’s “*Trump campaign FURIOUS about …!*” *Trumpworld RAGES against …!*” What will crybaby Trump be OUTRAGED about tomorrow?

  4. Troll_in_the_Knoll on

Trump’s re-election campaign has excoriated the project, calling it “pure malicious defamation” and “garbage”.

Were they referring to the actual content of the movie or it’s main character?

  5. This is the best tl;dr I could make, [original](https://www.nbcnews.com/pop-culture/trump-apprentice-biopic-movie-2024-election-rcna174503) reduced by 92%. (I’m a bot)

    > No movie on the fall calendar has stoked as much pre-release controversy as "The Apprentice," an R-rated dramatization of the early years of Donald Trump that hits theaters on Friday, 25 days before the presidential election.

    > Ivana Trump said under oath that Trump had scalp reduction surgery in 1989.

    > In a statement, Trump campaign spokesman Steven Cheung blasted "The Apprentice" as "Pure fiction" and "Election interference by Hollywood elites right before November.”

  6. I’d have probably never heard of this and likely would have avoided it if I had (as I try to avoid all things Trump) if it were not for the Trump campaign Streisand-ing the heck out of it.

  7. Good. Keep the hits coming. If the media is going to be complacent in allowing this shit show, instead of accurately portraying him, let Hollywood land a solid shot or two when it matters most.

  8. Come on Tom Steyer or some other Democrat billionaire, buy it, stream it for free on Youtube or some such!

His ‘fury’ might bring a complete meltdown and put him where he can do little damage – a lock down mental facility (though I’d prefer Florence ADX.)

    Fun fact(?)

The actress playing Ivana Trump is played by Maria Bakalova. The same actress that was in Borat 2 and was almost sexually assaulted by Rudy Giuliani.

I can’t see a diehard MAGA driving to a theater, spending $15 on a ticket, watching this movie, then changing his mind.  The rest of us already know Trump is an asshole and a damaged fuck up.  The only thing I can see tipping any balances is if some really powerful and damning scene from the movie goes viral which somehow dampens MAGA enthusiasm and MAGA turnout.

This movie should be in every theater in the country. Yet, it appears like the major chains are not showing it. Funny how that is 🤔

  12. They don’t like it? Too bad. This was the exact case of *Citizens United v Hillary Clinton*, which the Supreme Court then spun into the whole “money = speech” and “corporations are people” bullshit.

  13. We need a new term, “October drumbeat of surprises”: the Bob Woodward book about seven phone calls with Putin, the former CIA Director calling Trump Putin’s mole in the White House, Jack Smith spreading more factual evidence about jan6 before the public, a movie Detailing, the dysfunctional roots and Monsters of trump’s life… Cumulatively, these won’t dissuade cult Trump voters but could peel away a few uncertain ones here and there.

  14. I can’t imagine who this is for. His supporters definitely won’t go to anything critical of their god and I’d rather get several root canals than spend any of my free time consuming MORE trump than I’m already force fed through the news. If you’re planning on seeing this, why? Not trying to be confrontational, trying to understand.

  15. Saw it last night. Pretty entertaining overall. Sebastian Stan nailed the role as Trump, as did Jeremy Strong as Roy Cohn. I was surprised how nostalgic it made me for the days when he was just a sleazy tabloid celebrity and not a threat to world stability. Some very explicit scenes, so be prepared for that. Highly recommended.

  16. I hope he rants uncontrollably about it and that makes people flock to it

Conservatives don’t understand the streisand effect

There’s not a biopic in the world that will make people forget he’s a pants-shitting pedophile.
