The cult that is the NHS was never going to hold itself to account

More shitty maternal care in a supposedly first world country,
I didn’t know that cerebral palsy can be caused by brain damage during birth due to injury or lack of oxygen, I assumed it was genetic or something.

The tension between midwives and obstetrics seriously needs to be addressed since the former are actively and harmfully against referring people to the latter until the last minute.
We also save money by not scanning later in the pregnancy and relying on midwives to feel which way the baby is before giving birth. I had a 36 week scan saying the baby was in breech and the midwife told me it had flipped (without me feeling at 38 weeks). Fortunately I insisted on an elective c section at the time or I would have had an emergency one after who knows how long of trying to push my baby out butt first. It’s something that’s responsible for quite a lot of our emergency c sections and is so easily avoidable.
