It started with just one hole weeks ago, and now our lawn is basically being destroyed! I’m not a native so I’ve got no idea what animal it could be.

Found some scat this morning too(sorry, kids ate all the bananas so had to use a finger for scale). The only thing I’ve seen in the garden in the 4 years we’ve been here are possums, a tawny frogmouth, lizards, one tree snake and a baby brush turkey.

Keep repairing the holes but it’s not making a difference and we live in a rental so if anyone has any ideas about how to encourage our mystery guest to vacate the premises that would be great!

    Bandicoots.

I have a bunch living in my yard.

Put out a trail camera and you’ll see them. Or sit quietly late at night, or a couple of hours before sunrise.

A friend has bandicoots digging up her yard (regional Qld) – her photos look the same as yours.

  3. I’m actually missing mine this year ☹️
For the last 20 years that we’ve lived here,SE Qld, I’ve cursed them as my veggie garden got turned upside down. But none so far this year.
