  1. There already is a specialty [ at least in the U.S.. ] of family medicine.
    Medical care of children is very complex – someone needs to do it, and it is often the family medicine doctor.

    I don’t really care what kind of health care professional I see if they’re able to help me out. The mindset of “need to see a GP” really needs to change.

    The success metric here should be overall patient outcome, not success rate for seeing a particular practitioner type.
