“I view Trump as a disease, and I think it’s really important to remember that with every disease, prevention is a much more effective strategy than treatment. … I thought we had cured ourselves of it the first time, but it doesn’t seem like we have.

“And I think if he becomes the president again, we may have a terminal illness in our country. And that really, really scares me.”

She hits the nail on the head with this one. Anyone who has seen friends or family slowly rot from the inside out after following trump would agree. He’s rotted the souls of so many people. It’s a shame

    >the man she blames for ruining her father and damaging her family

What, her dad isn’t responsible for his own decision?

Isn’t that also the same piece of shit who destroyed the lives of election workers

    Ain’t that a fact!

  4. She’s right, Trump is a cancer, and unless he’s eradicated, his poison metastisises and eventually takes over the organism. We can’t wait for his defeat in November so he can face all those felony charges, be convicted, and sent to prison for hopefully the rest of his life.

The prevention is repairing our public education system, complete with critical thinking skills and civics in the curriculum. Republicans have dumbed down our country by slashing funding for public education beginning in 1980 when Reagan was elected.

The problem is that they quite literally think he’s the “cure” not the disease.

I feel for her. I’ve lost a few friends and a few not-so-close family members to the cult of MAGA, but it’s not the same as losing a parent. And it’s sad that we talk about people being lost to the cult as if they died, but that’s what it’s like with these people.

  8. Because it’s a cult, and needs to be treated as one.

You don’t get people out of cults by fact checking them, or yelling at each other on the internet.

Nor can you break them out while they’re still drowning in the cult’s sphere of influence.

And that’s why this is hard.

I mean, her father tried to move his mistress into Gracie Mansion. Dear, your father has always been a piece of shit.

  10. Yes they have. There is one in our family who lost their house of 40 years based on Trump’s promises which are lies. They were told to stop paying credit card bills because all debts are wiped clean. Instead, this person ended up with a judgment and accruing interest. Trump/Q anon told them U.S. currency is worthless and they should exchange it for foreign currency from Venezuela. This person stopped paying the mortgage on the house this person borrowed against and it went into foreclosure. To this day this person cannot come to grips with what the fraud and deception cost this person.

It’s a cult of personality that puts one man over the party or even over the country and it’s shameful and unpatriotic. Moderate Republicans played their part like Liz Cheney and Mitt Romney calling this out but the personality cult is strong and that’s why if Nikki Haley won primaries we would have a Republican president next but now it’s gonna be Kamala

After the election, we need to reinstate the Fairness Doctrine. Fox News should be shuttered. Get rid of all the conspiracy laden bullshit sites on the web, enforce hate speech as an exception to free speech. Churches that endorse Trump lose their 501c status. People who espouse Trumpian views are sick and need mental health treatment.

  13. Rudy is a dingleberry who sent his fake elector text to the wrong phone number and also scheduled a presidential press conference at a roofing company headquarters next to a dildo shop.

  14. Its not Trump. It the media. The more lies, bias, double standards and hatred they spew at him, the more he is liked.

Because it lays bare who our family are as people, what their values are, and we don’t like it? I have a father-in-law that I really have to compartmentalize my feelings about over this shit. He has both a lot of care for people he knows and not enough for people he doesn’t.

I also see trumpism as a disease. It’s completely degenerate and maladaptive. There’s nothing valid a magat can do or say at this point. We just need to manage the illness and possibly there might be some recovery cases but it’s very very rare

  17. This interview was quite good. She was articulate and somewhat poetic without being maudlin and she really nailed her analogies.

    High marks for persuasion.

If only the MAGAts were reachable.

  18. Never forget FOX made this happen. Those trump supporters do not listen to anything else. They’ve been conditioned to believe everything else is fake news.
