S&P Global is just reporting, I don’t believe they are implementing anything.

But yes, I think their perspective on the evolution of the internet and DePIN’s role in this and possibly next cycle’s bull run is well placed. I’ve been very bullish on Oracle infrastructure during this consolidation period, such as Chainlink and Goracle. I think trustless off chain data is critical for smart contract adoption and interoperability, but monetizing compute in the web3 and cloud based web2 world is exciting. Anyone can spin up an AWS/Azure/Google instance, and if the demand is there, profitably monetize their stack.

Very interesting projects out there, let me know if there are some other ones I should place on my radar.

Edit: I supply and am traditionally invested in energy infrastructure. I can certainly be biased about compute infrastructure (massive energy sinks). As always, DYOR.

tldr; The S&P Global report explores the intersection of AI and crypto technologies, highlighting their potential to shape the future of the internet. AI’s rapid adoption offers technological opportunities but poses risks like centralization and cyber threats. Crypto provides decentralized solutions to mitigate these risks. The report outlines three scenarios: incremental advancements, AI centralization, and a decentralized internet powered by AI and crypto. These technologies could enhance cybersecurity, financial markets, IoT, and supply chains, while addressing energy consumption and privacy concerns.
