“allegedly waving flags belonging to a terror group”
The photo sure doesn’t look “allegedly” to me.

Wait, so waving the flag of a terrorist group has consequences? Who could’ve known…

Good, bring back common sense to the world.

>Hezbollah is listed as a terrorist organization by the Canadian government.
Important details.

Why isn’t that person being deported? He is a danger to Canada.

Support Palestinians all you want, but fuck right off if you’re waving Hezbollah’s flag.

Wild to be arrested for waving a flag.
Another reason I’m glad I live in America.

Hezbelloh is a despicable terrorist group but I still don’t like criminal charges for waving their despicable flag. If the men gave money or other aid, then they should be arrested.
Mine is an American view influenced by our strong free speech laws. I understand that Canada has less protective laws.

There is no situation in which Canadians have any place waving the symbols of a murderous hate group around in Toronto.

“Oh noooo, I flew a terrorist flag? What do you mean, ‘charges'”?
Edit: punctuation. Cuz I R Dum Sumtimes.
Yes, the edit was meant to be…. That way.

American here. I understand it, but Free Speech should be absolute, even if I think is abhorrent. Personally don’t think anyone should be going to jail for waiving a flag on its own.

Commonwealth countries should learn from Germany on how to combat antisemitism. Jews feel safer in Germany than in Canada. It’s disgusting how much antisemitism in Canada goes unchecked like pakistani muslims protesting in front of a synagogue in Toronto for example.

deport insted of jail, why pay for their stay?

Toronto’s city councilor and deputy mayor Ausma Malik spoke at a rally where people were waving the Hezbollah flag several years ago.
18 years ago apparently. Here’s an article about it from 10 years ago.
>Yet, according to published reports from that Toronto protest, Malik called Israel’s actions “state-sanctioned murder.”
>She also rebuked Harper, calling on him to get a “backbone” while those around her — sporting Lebanese flags and the yellow flag of the Hezbollah terrorist movement — chanted “shame” and cheered jubilantly when word came Hezbollah had killed another 22 IDF soldiers.
Zero action to be taken against the same Hezbollah flag wavers from Melbourne’s protest. Even though display of the flag (by a Govt recognised terrorist organisation) is a Commonwealth crime.
About damn time. Should have started with this last year. I saw Isis flags at one.

I thought hate crime laws were intended to add aggravating circumstances when laws were being broken.
I fail to see how waving a flag is breaking any law. It doesn’t matter whether Hezbollah is a terror organization according to the Canadian government.

I think he is using a curtain pole.

[Police are however seeking to fine a pro-Taiwan protestor $20,000 for holding up a blank piece of paper outside the Chinese Consulate in Brisbane](https://x.com/DrewPavlou/status/1840658108835660028?t=uV61pJGF4_rjdm7rdOd1BA&s=19) 🤷
