  1. it’s not losing the block feature. i don’t know where anyone’s getting this idea. the only change is that if your profile is public, people you block will still be able to see your posts. they can’t interact, but they can read them. before this change it was trivial to see someone’s posts after they blocked you by opening an incognito window or logging into an alt. i hate musk as much as everyone else, but realistically this isn’t changing much

  2. Personally hate it. I blocked space Karen and briefly reactivated yesterday and…guess who shows up in “For you”? Immediately done with it if it’s going to serve up people you’ve muted or blocked in recommendations. Done for good now.

And yet they won’t stop using it, A company will hear its audience when the audience stops using the company’s products.

  4. Lol stop using it then, if you know something is bad or bad for you and you keep doing it that’s called addiction.

  5. Tbh I’m sick of the excuses people use for still being on that deplorable site “you can get breaking news so fast!” Bro you’re not an ABC news anchor why do you need news that fast? Just admit you’re using it for porn

  6. I’m using it less and less. It’s serving up content I’m not surfing for including unabashed nazis. I’m definitely not engaging 1/10 of what I was.

I have to use it for my business but I hate it sooooo much. It really was one of the best social platforms before Leon got a hold
Of it and turned it into a right wing propaganda site. Now it’s a bastion of hate and a voice for horrible people.

A few high profile celebrities exiting the platform for Bluesky and the floodgates will open. Call it the X-odus.

I think this is an issue of product building 101. Elon has forgotten. He had successes and now thinks every idea he has is great. However, unless you’re buying billions of copies of your own product, what your customers think is more important than what you think.

I hate what Twitter has become. I’ve been on it for my podcast for years, but recently I barely go on it except just to announce a new episode release.

I’d leave if there was a really good alternative but Bluesky doesn’t seem to work as well. Facebook is more for people who adjust know about my show.

I miss the days I used to chat to historians, history fans, and interesting people on Twitter before it became an Alt Right hell hole.

  11. Could you imagine having a negative view of a platform and then continuing to use it?

At that point, you’re just asking to be frustrated.

My husband is very liberal and hates Elon but can’t give up X for some reason! I always ask him.

lol remember when they told advertisers to go fuck themselves and then whined when they left the platform

  14. I will deal with a lot of “abuse” from an online platform. I don’t care about the Reddit api thing, it’s their site. I have never really cared about that stuff but I am finding Twitter a lot harder to use, and in an increasing fashion. It’s comical how spammy the site is and how low the amount of content on it actually is.

Mind you I have their highest tier subscription as I have a marketing / art business to conduct but when it comes to renew it again I may just not.

Threads gets me more engagement and I don’t have to pay them a dime.

  15. Logged off last December and have only been on once and I used to be a daily compulsive user

  16. I finally found the courage to leave twitter after almost a decade, should have left a long time ago tbh
