Thailand making preparations in event of Israel evacuation Thailand’s foreign ministry says it is making preparations in case it decides to evacuate tens of thousands of people from Israel. Officials are concerned about the soaring tensions in the Middle East.

The ministry’s spokesperson Nikorndej Balankura said there are currently no reports of Thai nationals suffering any casualties in Israel or Lebanon as a result of the recent air attacks. He went on to say that there is currently not an evacuation order for Israel or neighboring countries, and each embassy is making preparations for if the situation gets worse.

The announcement follows Israel’s ground operations in Lebanon and Iran’s retaliation missile attack on Israel.
According to the ministry, there are about 30,000 Thai workers in Israel, with many engaged in agriculture.

Six Thai citizens are believed to still be in captivity as a result of Hamas’s surprise attack last October. The ministry is urging their release.
