  1. This is just dishonest reporting.

Neither candidate “flew off the handle”. These editors should be ashamed of themselves for this headline.

  2. I wouldn’t say he freaked out or anything crazy. This debate was actually very mild and refreshing and should be a good standard for the presidential debates.

  3. Vance was good at talking. He kept his cool and deflected well and was able to add enough ambiguity as to not piss off Trump’s base when he agreed with a ‘liberal’ ideology.

With that being said, he lied out of his ass. This article is an exaggeration, but damn am I worried that those uninformed are actually going to listen to him.

Nobody freaked out. It was a very civil debate which our country hasn’t seen in a long time

  5. The only thing worse than a corrupt politician is someone like Vance, that is slick and smooths out all the edges, of that corrupt politician.

Vance never answered the question about his earlier statement that he would not certify the election.

Vance said Trump has been consistent about abortion. No.

Vance said Trump did great on health care. No. Trump tried overturning the ACA multiple times.

I don’t think this debate will sway anyone. But it’s a reminder of the two views for America.

I’m a liberal, and I think waltz said more of substance.

But seriously? “Flew off the handle” “Freaked out”?

Holy lord of dramatic. Nothing in this debate came even close to either of those things occurring, from either candidate.

I feel like Walz won me over with policy. JD seemed polished and practiced in a used carsalesman way.

  8. For me, the deciding line in the debate came from Vance, when he talked about how proud he was that they had the support of, laughably, two Democrats in Kennedy and Gabbard

Let’s fact check and list all the Republicans who have endorsed Harris or, better yet, haven’t endorsed Trump. It’s a damning admit of failure, Vance.

So a person who lies convincly is better at debating than one who is honest and likeable?

I think Walz did a better job. I can not wait to see him presiding over a Democratically controller U.S. Senate.

  10. Vance maintained his base tonight but Walz gained some supporters with his down to earth passion

  11. You’d think Kamala was president for the last 4 years. Did she really institute every single policy? Vance sure seemed to think so. “Ouch, I stubbed my toe. This is because of Kamala’s policies.”

  12. Oh_My_Monster on

What a click bait headline. He “freaks out”. He “flew off the handle”. No he didn’t. I, in no way, support Trump or Vance but these mischaracterizations on either side don’t lead to healthy discourse.

  13. JD thinks that he’s going to be given some big authority if he and Trump win. I say, the only authority he’ll be given is to command a shoe shine kit to buff Trump’s high heels every morning. But they’re not going to win anyway so whatever.

  14. Spineless coward piddles himself, cowers in corner. More on the androgenous puddle of vomit in a suit claiming to be a man at 11.

I wouldn’t call it slight. That has to be the first time since mics were invented that a presidential or vice presidential candidate had their mic muted for the purpose of cutting them off.

Damn Vance actually is the MAGA heir and I hate it. He says all of Trumps bullshit in a way that normal people can be convinced that his bullshit isn’t total bullshit and that’s scary.

  17. Joebranflakes on

Honestly this was all part of the plan. Get on, spew lies, then pitch a fit when someone finally corrected him. It’s theatre for his base and for the news outlets that will parrot his position for the next week.

This is why Walz needed to pin him down more. He needed to press Vance on the nationwide abortion ban, the claims of post-birth abortions, migrants stealing housing, the pet-eating claim, etc. Getting pressed on these things throws him off and gets him stumbling over responses

  19. As a Dem watching the debate, I thought Vance was a bit better. Regardless it was one of the best debates I have ever seen.
Advise to all: I suggest that when u r on social media, do not listen to headlines like this on either side. Be a player and a thinker in your own life and watch the damned debate yourself. U decide what works for u.
JD Vance was quite comfortable in his own skin – this is ridiculous

I went into this debate with very little respect and very low expectations of J.D. Vance. Even though he answered hardly any of the actual questions and stood by his and Trump’s lies, I am sorry to say I was actually impressed by his demeanor and ability to stay in control of the narrative.

Had I not known that 99% of what he said was bullshit, I could see how undecided voters who have had their head in the sand might have been swayed by him.

And, although a very low bar, Vance did a much better job than Trump and I bet supporters are very happy with his performance.

JD’s job was to sound reasonable- and he largely did by sounding like he supported policies that would help middle Americans. No matter that these are Democratic policies and that his own party has their collective sights set on dismantling anything that closely resembles something helpful.

I really wish Walz had pushed back more on the abortion point Vance made. “Look, the people of Ohio made their choice and it wasn’t my preference but they sure did vote that way.” “Yeah, that’s a good point J.D. and I’m glad you brought that up. Where’s that whole thing now? Last I checked it was tied up in court challenges from, let me check my notes- the Republican party.” Easy lay up and these opportunities were all over the place.

Was jd’s paralyzed Botox face as disturbing to anyone else as it was for me?
Or is he literally dead inside? The limited range of expression and lack of readability are not conducive to inspiring trust in the viewer.

At least Walz has a face capable of believably expressing concern and worry for the direction our country is going.

Republicans don’t give a shit about Vance. He’s exactly the type of weak and spineless politician they’ve hated for decades. He was picked as VP to make democrats think they’re not that bad. As soon as the election is over and democrats win they’ll blame Vance for everything and kick him to the curb. Also, his only requirement as VP is he’s agreed to steal the election when Pence wouldn’t. Republicans won’t be making that mistake again.

  24. I honestly thought he was going to get on the floor and kick his legs until people apologized to him for the thing he did.
