That may be the most hideous bathroom I’ve ever seen… it’s diarrhoea green.

Fuck no, they went with the cheapest option or kept what was there, ain’t no one with any sense picking that.

As mentioned here before, I inherited my grandmothers house after she passed away, and because of alot of original features, I left it how it was to a fair extent
The Burgundy bathroom suite I have though…that was just because getting it out and down a flight of stairs was too much like hard work. Plus was there nothing wrong with it so it’s still there. A couple of mates who have been over quite like it.
I did get rid of the furry bog seat cover, but the knitted doll that goes over the teepee remains.

Good. Sick of everything looking like it’s from Ikea.

I preferred the salmon coloured bathware of the 80s

I think it looks really cute. Although I admit I’m a sucker for a kitschy interior

Young people have stopped buying avocado toast and managed to save up and buy their avocado house

Just people bored of the sterilised white that took over literally every wall, roof, electrical good and fixture looking for something, anything else.
I guess maybe marketing nudging might have made it more popular but ‘repelling the old’ is fairly natural behaviour.

That looks so much like my late parent’s bathroom lol.

As a young person (who doesn’t own a house, yes I still live with my parent!), I honestly don’t like coloured bathroom suites. It just looks so dated. I did repaint the main bathroom walls last year coral pink from bright turquoise, so I am in favour of brightly coloured bathrooms, just not the avocado bathroom suites!

Oooor… Younger homeowners can only afford Dilapidated houses with 40 yr old bathrooms and can’t afford to update them?

Does this mean my blue bath might be fashionable again soon?

They clash with the colour of a baby’s skin! And before you say that’s weird, I mean dead OR alive!

We had the turquoise bath set in the house I grew up in. I’d like to see that return, that was nice.
My nanna had the avocado set. Bleech. There are nicer greens, c’mon.
I’ve seen the raspberry set IRL and photos of the yellow set… those look like they would be annoying to clean.
More blues please. Bathtubs and bath sets in those swirly sparkly malachite-esque blues you get in hot tubs.

I feel like it’s more of a case of they’re cheap because no one wants them because they look foul

My parents had an avocado bathroom for years. Weird seeing it becoming popular again.
My grandparents had brown.

If you follow trends this should not be surprising. Mid century modern is about to be everywhere.

Didn’t read the article as its the puff stuff from the Guardian.
I’m un ironically going to debunk this article in the following way:-
It’s not an empirical poll of all persons within a data set.
It’s the opinion of a single person OR
It’s based on some unsubstantiated report, like a poll from a companies website.
They have a soundbite/ quote from one person saying this is a thing.
Maybe even the buyer saying ” I love avocado”
This article reports this as a ‘trend’
Which to any sane person it is obviously not.

My Grandma’s Bathroom was like this… She even had green shag carpet for the floor. I remember all the times staying there it was very vintage and basic, but nice and cosy. It was a semi-attached house.
It looked very 60s and 70s inside, because she moved into it after selling off the council house she brought my mum up in. She only got a small flat screen not to long after her sisters box TV she inherited died on her.
Would I install something like this no, but I don’t exactly like the grey and white of my mothers style either. I guess I will try ocean blue.
