  1. Eh needs more data points – OP needs to set it to update for every time a TDs had a birthday or died in office.

    And why is the title “state”? state of inebriation at the dáil bar?

    I’d say it’s come down a bit since, and the next one will be lower still with half of FG not going up for re-election

    Interesting how you can – I hypothesise – see the cohorts of TDs age – the initial revolutionary cohort and a few periods of renewals around pivotal elections with significant changes in Dáil composition, climaxing with the Bertie Era cohort through the 90s and 00s before the turbulence and shedding of the 10s.

    I suspect the average age of the next Dáil will be lower than the current one, with a lot of long term incumbents not running

If you ignore the initial lower part, it’s fairly constant which i find interesting, even though people are living longer and working longer, we are still electing people of a rough age, best guess for the beginning being lower is that when the first Dails were formed, they were essentially the revolutionaries (who would usually have been younger)
