The US tech giants are expanding to meet demand for artificial intelligence.
Ruth Porat, the president of Google’s parent company Alphabet, was in Bangkok on Monday to meet Prime Minister Paetongtarn Shinawatra.
Google’s plan comprises a data center in eastern Chonburi Province, and a so-called cloud region in the capital.
The project is worth 1 billion US dollars. Officials say the investment could create about 14,000 jobs annually between 2025 and 2029.
Microsoft’s plans for a data center in Thailand were announced in May.
