If there’s one thing this past decade has taught me it’s that more than a few conservative married men spend more time in the closet than they do in their bedroom with their spouse. The amount of self-hatred on the right gets turned into hatred of the other. They can’t accept that they themselves were born this way, so they resent those who accept and rightfully acknowledge that they too were born this way and are happy the rest of the world knows it.
