Ukraine: Attack damages another arsenal in Russia The Ukrainian military says an offensive operation has damaged an arsenal of missile and artillery weapons in Russia. This is the latest in a series of attacks Ukraine says its forces successfully conducted on ammunition depots in Russia.

The Ukrainian military posted on social media on Sunday that an attack hit an arsenal in the southern Russian region of Volgograd.

Multiple Ukrainian media outlets report that the attack involved drones and that the arsenal was storing Iranian ballistic missiles.

The Russian defense ministry also took to social media on Sunday, saying air defense systems destroyed and intercepted 125 drones launched by Ukraine to strike Russian territory. It did not say whether the Ukrainian operation caused damage.

The Ukrainian military announced earlier this month that its side had attacked three ammunition depots in Russia in the northwestern region of Tver and the southern region of Krasnodar.

The UK defense ministry says the major strikes in quick succession demonstrate that Russia continues to struggle against Ukrainian drones employed in deep-strike operations into the country.

The Ukrainian military’s capability to launch drone attacks may be improving as it is working to develop models that can be domestically produced.

The development effort comes as Ukraine has not gained permission to fire Western-supplied long-range weapons into Russia.

Meanwhile, Russian forces attacked civilian facilities in Ukraine. They struck residential and other buildings in the southern region of Zaporizhzhia on Sunday, wounding 16 people, including two children.
