Trump vows to seek criminal charges against Google over search results Former US President Donald Trump has called for the prosecution of Google, accusing the search engine giant of unfairly displaying negative stories about him.

The Republican presidential nominee said in a social media post on Friday that, in its online search results, Google only revealed bad stories about him and good ones about Vice President and Democratic presidential candidate Kamala Harris.

Trump said, “This is an illegal activity, and hopefully the Justice Department will criminally prosecute them for this blatant interference of elections.”

He also said if the department does not prosecute Google, he would request its prosecution when “I win the election and become president of the United States.”

Trump has repeatedly criticized Google in the past for what he calls illegal manipulation of its search results.

In response to an inquiry about the matter by NHK, Google said, “We absolutely do not manipulate search results to favor any candidate.”
