Japanese Defense Minister Kihara Minoru has ordered transport aircraft to Jordan and Greece for possible evacuation of Japanese citizens from Lebanon.
Kihara gave the instruction to the Self Defense Forces on Friday amid fighting between the Israeli military and Lebanon-based Shia group Hezbollah.
The ministry says it is arranging one plane for Jordan and another for Greece.
