Hopefully the Dublin North Central electorate remember this when he comes knocking for votes in a few weeks.
An utter disgrace.

There’s one thing you can trust in this world, the word of Israeli government.

Donohue might have been involved in more scandals than Bertie at this point.
How the fuck is he still so prominent in Fine Gael?

He promised Israel FG would use the money message to block it, which they did. FG abused that power a lot when they lacked the numbers to beat opposition bills. We really should look back at all the times it was used, because we now know they were using it outside the spirit of the legislation to shutdown any bill they couldn’t democratically stop.

Alan Shatter another one that did favours for the Israelis. Now spending his retirement in Israel and ireland.

So now we trust Israeli politicians?
That’s literally the source for this. As Israeli far right politician bragging that Donoghue said he would ‘block’ the bill when the money message was already being talked about many months before this in the Irish media.
The only reason for this being released is to interfere with our elections as punishment for the entire country standing up against them.

The influence of Zionism on national and international political discourse is sickening. Whether it’s true corruption or blackmail or veiled threats more often than not they get what they want. People need to loudly and publicly start asking why. This issue needs to enter international discourse.

That whole generation of FG poiticians are basically American republican politicians who can’t come out of the closet as they would be decimated. I’m not surprised they support Israel behind the scenes.

Does anyone actually *read* these articles?
He did not “secretly” promise anything, as confirmed by the Ditch article itself:
>“This is not new information as the Irish foreign minister already explained during the parliamentary debate on the bill that the bill involves the appropriation of public monies (for example, enforcement costs and European infringement expenses) and hence requires government approval by way of what is known as a money message,” added Cohen.
The fact that the Government was going to put this Bill through the money message route was clearly flagged *in the Dail debate* well in advance of the call.
Everything else in the article is trusting the word of Israeli government sources, who are actively and publicly trying to attack Ireland via any means possible due to Ireland’s support of the Palestinian people.
FG finance minister informs Israel’s finance minister of party’s position on a bill relevant to Israel’s finances. That’s pretty standard diplomacy.
FG should clearly have supported the OT bill for moral reasons, but they have been clear for 6 years that they were opposed to it on the basis of legal concerns over it.

Don’t really see what the problem is here. We knew FG were likely to do this since [July 2018](https://www.irishtimes.com/news/politics/government-may-do-everything-in-its-power-to-block-occupied-territories-bill-1.3564420), 6 months before this phone call took place.
