  1. This will be welcome. Will not solve the issue of ghost/disappearing buses (which I think it caused by a lack of drivers) but at least people will get better info.

And before the urban myth comes up that the buses are not tracked because of the unions – this is an upgrade to the *current bus tracking system*.

^(PS That was the only transport related flair)

  2. Can they also tackle the busses that pull in at a stop and sit there for ages, delaying the people on board.

  3. Sure cos they dont have trackers already .
Bus eireanns drops connection around athlone sometimes doesnt update at all.
Citylink turn theirs off if running late as far as i can tell .

Just back from Switzerland, for anyone who’s been knows it’s an expensive place to be but public transport is literally 200 years ahead of ours, on the flight home get talking to a few Swiss lads, they ask about places to go and then the dreaded “where do I get the train to xxxxx hotel? ” ehhh! Well there actually isn’t a train that services the airport (cringe)…. You can get this bus… On leaving the airport I had to guide the group outside and show them the packed bus stop, next bus in 34 minutes (cringe) The look of shock when I told them this is why I’m going to a field with gravel in it (Blue car park) 5 mins away that charges €14 per day, welcome to Dublin!

Is this only for Dublin Bus or will it be rolled out across the whole country? Not like there’s no problems with ghost buses anywhere else /s
