Taiwan eases Japanese food import restrictions Taiwan’s authorities have announced they will ease import restrictions on Japanese food imposed after the 2011 accident at the Fukushima Daiichi nuclear power plant.

The measure announced on Wednesday will allow, in principle, imports of all food products from Japan.

The restrictions were relaxed in February 2022, but the suspension of some items remained in place. These included wild bird and animal meat and mushrooms from Fukushima, Ibaraki, Tochigi, Gunma and Chiba prefectures.
