We should have a humiliating punishment for criminals like him. Posters in the area that say to watch out for criminals like him in the area and show his name a d face. Same for thieves etcs. Like a modern version of the stocks. There’ll certainly be human rights push back, but f their human rights if they’re not acting humanely.

I dont see any cries for naming him as much as there was for an Indian guy who took a child from the building

In fairness I doubt he knew there was a baby in the car so I don’t see why he wouldn’t just be treated like anyone else who stole a car i.e. add a tick mark to his list and let him go free.

I know it’s usual to be a bit negative on this sub, particularly when it comes to sentencing. Before I saw these headlines break, I noticed one of the Garda helicopters making circles around our area for a long time and texted my wife. She said she noticed several marked and unmarked cars rushing past when she was out.
It’s hard to think of anything more deserving of a massive response than this. And it’s great that they got the guy and the child is fine.
Obviously, it would be great if there was better responses for less serious things. But I’m happy they got the guy.

If you’re gonna steal a car don’t steal a Qashqai. You know it’s been used as a family car and either has kids inside or a bunch of kid shit.
You’ll already be in trouble for stealing a car. You don’t need the kidnapping charge too.
