It’s already over, the only one who has yet to realize is Putin. There’s no way he can convert the situation into an international/geopolitical win. The developed world will absolutely never accept redrawing the border such that Ukraine loses more ground then before Russia openly attacked. I’d be surprised is Putin ends this while still alive and also in possession of Crimea. Best case scenario for Putin and Russia is for him to formally give up, accept the losses, return the lands to Ukraine and then kill himself.
