  1. It’s all the previous liberal governments fault, they wrecked the states finances, left the state broke and now the Labor government can’t afford to give their public servants much needed pay rises

  2. Their article is spruiking some bullshit though – “Victoria has the highest paid nurses, with salaries capped at just shy of $130,000” Absolutely not true. QLD has the highest paid nurses out of all the states, well known fact. And salaries aren’t capped at 130k for nurses, you can go upwards of 170k for DON’s in major hospitals. The max pay rate for a regular registered nurse in vic is 48.26842 per hour, (roughly 87k per year) before allowances, so full time you’re at around 110k INCLUDING all allowances – this is 8+ years of experience mind you. An RN in QLD with maximum years (caps at 7) is $106k per year, BEFORE allowances….. So without looking too much more in depth to allowances in QLD i’d say its around 130k per year full time.
