It’s not ideal phrasing given historical antisemitic claims, but it’s not exactly a disputed fact that Israel as a state and zionism as a movement spends vast amounts of money and exercises blatant pressure tactics to mute speaking up about the genocide in Palestine and silence its critics.

We’re aware. Now kindly fuck off trying to use it to ignore war crimes and genocide being committed by the only Jewish nation on the planet. Oddly enough, any Jewish people that speak out against these atrocities are labeled “antisemitic” or “self-hating Jews” by Zionist psychopaths.
The problem for people complaining here is that groups here or in the US or in the UK advocating against anti-Semitism and for other similar Jewish issues are highly politicised and I’m absolutely certain would have got involved in highlighting Higgins letter when it was released.
Thus, it’s completely accurate to say what he said. The problem is with the people who claim to speak for every Jewish person while also advocating for Israel via their ostensibly apolitical charitable or non-governmental advocacy outfit.
Related and for example: why is the Chief Rabbi in the UK getting involved in argument over arms shipments to Israel? Who is he speaking for?
He can’t have it both ways. If people in response speak of a “Jewish lobby” in relation to Israel due to the Chief Rabbi and countless other Jewish advocacy groups becoming heavily involved in advocating for Israel that is a completely fair comment.

It’s stupid fucking phrasing. Israel should exist, we should support Jewish people and condemn those who threaten them or wish them harm.
We can do this while at the same time questioning the Israeli government’s policies in Palestine.
