Just up from Sydney on my first trip to Brisbane, stayed in Fortitude Valley close to the Story Bridge. Really liked a lot of the gigantic murals you have dotted around the city.

Got the Genuine Felons Experience when my wife and I ordered our meals on our first night there. My meal turned up, I had time to eat it, order a second drink and then wait another 15 mins before my wife’s turned up. Another day we were being lazy and just felt like a light snack, so went in at lunch to share a pizza. It was pretty quiet, but it still took a full 30 mins for our pizza to turn up. I can’t believe how massive that complex is. Overpriced and shit. Great location though. Absolutely packed every night too.

Greca and The Stanley were top notch though.

The Riverwalk is awesome. 50c public transport is amazing. The Rivercats are a nice way to travel. Locals are very friendly, especially the chap I ended up chatting to on the Rivercat who told me, unprompted, before I even mentioned I was *from* Sydney, how much he hated Sydney.

The Museum of Brisbane was disappointing, I wanted to check out some historical stuff about Brisbane but there was just a small photo exhibition on.

I went running a few times, around to New Farm and back, and also over the Story Bridge and around to Southport. Loved the running and cycling paths along the river. Nearly got taken out by a dude on a modified electric scooter who must have been going at about 40kph minimum at one point.

    Cheers Brisbane.
