We are staying in Sarande and this sound started all of a sudden. We thought it was an alarm, but now think it could be an insect? It’s been continuing non-stop for more than an hour) Can we do anything about it?
It’s a… f*cking karkalec (grasshopper), sorry for the cussing but I despise ’em, I thought their time was over for this year but since it’s the South it’s a lil bit hotter there so I guess it’s still karkalec time there. 💀 Hate it. And of course you can do smth about it😭 Idk where you are or what kind of building that is but go on the roof if it’s on the roof and if it’s on the side of the building/apartment whatever just go on the balcony and use a broom to swipe his lil annoying ahh

There’s a grasshopper somewhere in that apartment. I’m honestly surprised you don’t know what they sound like. Try finding the little dude and get him outside. Or maybe it’s not inside, just very close to the house, but they can still be loud when having a window open. They usually don’t bother me because the sound is kinda calming and helps me sleep.

Thats a cricket or bulkth in Albanian. My strategy to get rid of em without hurting them is to get a mop, pinpoint where he is, drop the mop on top of him and drag it outside. They wont get hurt the fuckers are pretty tough.
