Any idea what happened to its missing leg? Almost looks like there’s a stub there…

A reverse google search shows that these spiders (Argiope lobata) are native to Cyprus (and other Mediterranean, African And Asian countries). It is apparently venomous but not dangerous to humans unless they are allergic. Now I don’t know what kind of allergy that would entail, but it seems that we have survived peacefully so far, so it can’t be that common.
I had no idea we had that many types of spider in Cyprus but reddit has opened my eyes

I found one last summer as well.
Beautiful spider, completely harmless to humans

Y’all I love Cyprus and have always wanted to visit. Please tell me this is not real. Spiders are one of the biggest reasons I don’t want to visit Australia even though it is high of my bucket list. Maybe if someone can invent a spider resident full body suit I might consider it. But to be effective it should probably the outfit should probably also look like a spider. If only such a thing existed.
