1% of the federal budget for NASA, for the love of God.

What facilities is slim shady comparing them to
JurassicParkCSR on
Yeah when you have no money your facilities start to fall apart. Strange I know.

I read “Eminem” and wasn’t sure what does Slim Shady has to do with NASA

Every center has terrible facilities. I would’ve thought ARC, WFF and KSC would’ve had worse facilities than Johnson. Heck…they’re still using some Apollo era systems to launch rockets.
Give them money!!!

I love how “NASA is trash and should be shut down” posts suddenly started appearing right after Boeing shit the bed and put themselves at risk of losing their entire Aerospace division due to terrible engineering, management, and quality control.

Example number 385838474 that outside of SpaceX the American space program is a fucking embarrassment.

This is why I’m convinced once China goes back to the moon NASA is suddenly going to get a proper budget.

I worked with NASA for a while. It’s a shame because all the people I met there were incredible, but the effects of many years of low budget were very apparent on the facilities. Everyone was still so motivated and believed in the mission, but there was an air of uncertainty about the future starting to develop. I figure morale is a little lower these days since I was there maybe 7 years ago. Waning public interest and low budget made the vibes there feel more like a monument to the moon landing era than a leading firm in humanity’s greatest endeavor Edit: If anyone there now wants to chime in on how it is

“The United States Government spent around 73.2 billion U.S. dollars on its space programs in 2023, making it the country with the highest space expenditure in the world. The U.S. was followed by China, with government expenditure on space programs of over 14 billion U.S. dollars.” – China built their own rockets and has their OWN space station and landed rover on the moon with quarter of the NASA budget. What NASA spends money on?????

Meh who needs it there is no cost control for anything, its a big joke now, just a way for mega corps to siphon money from the gov , SLS program giant overpriced shitshow.
SpaceX just proved the cost benefits of a reusable rocket system. and the SLS is still using a disposable booster system.
spacex will not be the only launch system , they represented sure 80% of global launches today but its a big pie and nobody is going to sit around and let them take all the money. And we dont need a goverment owned rocket launch system,we should focus on satelites and robots, rovers telescopes ect… let somebody else do the dog work of breaching the earths atmosphere
NASA is the reason we are here that is never to be forgotten, but the advances in technology are too great and too costly for goverment agencies to push us forward, if the trips to the moon and the rovers on mars did not happen there would have been less motivation to push us to the stars. We owe them the honor amd respect for lighting and moving that torch forward. now its time for the private sector to make it cost effective and to keep pushing the technology and progress in the field.

So bashing Boeing doesn’t get clicks anymore? Time to bash NASA?

Short summary: “Congress does not fund NASA adequately. Congress let Aericebo facilities deteriorate to the point of collapse. Congress wants to give tax cuts to Billionaires.” Nothing new

Oh boy. Their facilities are shit and the agency is falling apart you say? Another one of these articles put out there in a short span?

When anti-science politicians keep cutting funding, this tends to happen.

Reduce military spending. Increase spending for NASA and science/medical research.
Side note, I thought “Eminent” was the name of a company, my bad lol…

NASA is a rare government agency that actually MAKES money. Every dollar spent on NASA returns $4 to the U.S. economy, creates jobs, and increases tax revenues. They have their own chief economist to track and prove their return on investment. https://www.nasa.gov/value-of-nasa/
