Nicely coinciding with the Chinese announcement of mandatory basic military training for all students above high school.

The next 10 years aren’t going to be nice for the world.

  2. When I read headlines like this, or about the bombings in Moscow, I remember a great quote from 1984, about the only real reminders of an endless war being “a continuous shortage of goods and the occasional crash of a rocket bomb.”

I really do think that’s where this region’s headed.

  3. when will the western nations, especially in europe, wake up and realize this in their practical policy?

  4. Go ahead and throw your youth into the meat grinder. They’re just your country’s future. 😐

We’ll consider terms when the Russian Babushka Battalion gets their deployment papers. At that point, there’s nothing left to fight. (Won’t be long at this point)

  5. First it was 3 days, now it’s a forever war. Russia seems to have a problem with numbers which might explain why they think they can keep going on forever with a failing economy

Putin should watch Bruce Almighty. Jim inherits all the powers of God, but, like God, cannot control people’s free will. Something to consider, Pootin

  7. And in the meantime people wait for peace negotiations…

Oh well, some denied existence of COVID-19, but reality caught up to them.

Funny how the Kremlin is still running like back in WWII. Passing guns around cause they don’t have enough. Comes with the ideology or something.

  9. 2022:

    “3 day Special Military Operation”

    2024:

    “Forever War”

To quote the Red Queen computer from Resident Evil (2002)

“Things, I gather, have gotten out of control”

  10. This is the best tl;dr I could make, [original](https://www.themoscowtimes.com/2024/09/13/kremlin-revives-soviet-style-youth-indoctrination-as-it-eyes-forever-war-with-ukraine-and-the-west-a86367) reduced by 90%. (I’m a bot)

    > Putin's early presidency saw the creation of state-funded youth movements championed by Kremlin ideologists such as admitted Western culture lover Vladislav Surkov and Vyacheslav Volodin.

    > The full-scale invasion of Ukraine two and a half years ago renewed the government's focus on youth indoctrination.

    > The Kremlin is now transforming Rosmolodyozh, the Federal Agency for Youth Affairs, into a vast new ideological body tasked with systematizing and unifying all youth ideological education initiatives, from kindergarten to higher education.

  11. …Russia probably can’t sustain a forever war the same way the US can, looking at their population, GDP, and demographics. Let alone their “throw conscripts at the problem” tactics.
