  1. To be fair, the way things are going, life will suck for humanity in 1000 years no matter who wins in this election. It’s not like Harris is planning on changing the trajectory in major ways from what we are currently on, which is disastrous.

As someone who doesn’t live in America I’m sure glad that my life can be made so much worse by 20,000 people in Pennsylvania

  3. Well, I try to take the long view. A few million years from now rodent descended palaeontologists will be trying to make sense of a thin layer of radioactive plastic in the geological record and making risibly inaccurate reconstructions of what humans used to look like.

  4. Part of me thinks this is wildly & irresponsibly sensationalist. Part of me thinks Trump is the Great Filter.

    🤷🏽‍♂️

  5. Yeah, they tried to scare us with this same garbage the last time he ran as well. He won. Then he lost. And here we are 8 years later – same shit, same political crap & corruption. All politicians & and their policies come & go. Some just make it a little more difficult for the real government to operate for a few years.

  6. This is sensationalism and fear-mongering at its peak. If we are going to call this shit out when the right does it, then the left need to be called out for it too.

Everybody said the world was going to end in 2016 and until COVID, the economy was generally fine and he didn’t start any wars or make people more fearful of the future.

The reality is on a local, individual level, the average person is not affected by who the President is.

I fully agree with this statement – please sane Americans – VOTE !! Not just for yourself, but for survival of the human race

  8. Motherjones is as “fair and balanced” journalism as Newsmax and OAN. I’m no orange man-child fan by any means but “articles” like that are a joke….

It’s not sensationalist to point out that Trump would knock our battle against climate change (and other dire environmental problems) widely off course. He already did, and it will have consequences that will continue to play out in the future.

You’ll never be able to measure precisely to what degree collapsing ice sheets and insect populations are blamable on Trump specifically, but it would be higher percent than nearly any other single human being.

  10. I don’t want him to win, but on the other hand i want to see how screwed up America would become if he would have…

    (Canadian).

Edit: I said i don’t want him to win why am i being downvoted lol…

  11. It will be way worse under kamala. We all should be doing our duty to make sure she does not win. The last 4 years have been shite

  12. Even if you’re American (I’m in New Hampshire) unless you’re in a swing state all the rest of us are in the same boat, just watching and hoping enough people finally remove their head from their asses to keep him out of office.

  13. Everyone will suffer, but the poor and colored will suffer more. And that’s what his supporters want.

I’m terrified of another Trump presidency just as much as the next guy but this kind of hyperbole is equally terrifying. The truth is nobody voted for Harris this election, there was no democratic process. And painting Trump as the next bringer of destruction is exactly what Democratic Party wants to get us all to look the other way while they enable a genocide. Vote Green if you actually care and don’t live in a swing state, it will make a difference the next time around!

  15. I don’t even really disagree but adding existential dread to the election is what Biden was doing – it’s demonstrably not an effective campaign message. Suppose it could help GOTV on the margins…

Just do what you will think will make January and February better and that’ll probably make 2074 better too.

Rather have Trump over more wars if Kamala wins, she definitely won’t take a hard stance against countries threatening that.

Climate change is obviously real but it’s always funny reading people make these dramatic doomsday articles every year

  18. Yep especially as the next president could have the ability to add at least 2 Supreme Court justices. We’ve seen the damage that can be done by trump and maga biased judges. You can guarantee they’ll be no reform to the courts if trump gets in.
